WWPA Eliminates Marketing Functions

The Western Wood Products Association, which has been a leader in promoting the environmental advantages of lumber over other materials, is reducing its marketing functions in favor of a focus on wood grading and technical support for users. This shift within the organization is a loss to the broader community, because WWPA had invested fairly heavily in research to back up their claims. Without this effort, there is a risk that the debate between proponents of wood and those advocating the use of other building materials will become even more of a shouting match, rather than a reasoned and documented discussion.
