EZ Roll Grass and Gravel Pavers are permeable paving systems that provide a honeycomb matrix to retain grass or gravel and prevent soil compaction while allowing water to pass through. The product averages approximately 70% recycled HDPE plastic, though this varies by color and availability. EZ Roll Grass Pavers, with an empty compressive strength of 57,890 psf, are recommended for bike paths, driveways, parking lots, and access roads, as well as soil stabilization and erosion-control applications. EZ Roll Gravel Pavers, with an empty compressive strength of 66,000 psf, are additionally recommended for vehicle wash-down areas and boat access. Gravel pavers are available in tan, black, brick red, and gray, but some colors contain no recycled material. EZ Roll Pavers are 1" high and come in various dimensions, most commonly 4'x150' rolls.

TrueGrid permeable pavers are made in Houston, TX from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, largely from milk crates. The 16”x16” interlocking grid components each contain 16 cylindrical cells which may be filled with gravel, or with soil to create a grassy area. While plastic can expand and contract considerably with changes in temperature, TrueGrid is designed to withstand changes in the weather, and also withstands compression exceeding 115,000 lbs/ft2. It is intended for uses including parking lots, job sites, driveways, and parks.

The CM 100 Porous Parking System consists of 100% post-consumer recycled hi impact polystyrene (HIPS) forms to which concrete is added, creating a 32% porous surface. The 24" x 24" x 4" forms result in an evenly distributed void space of 3.8 cubic yards per 1,000 sq. ft. These spaces are filled with grass or gravel, creating a driveway or parking lot offering improved stormwater infiltration.

EcoGrid el30 is suitable for moderate vehicle traffic, walkways, and playgrounds. EcoGrid e50 will accommodate heavy vehicle traffic and parking areas. EcoGrid s50 is for slope stabilization. MODI Roof trays are made from 100% post-consumer recycled HDPP, come in two depths, and are suitable for use over any type of watertight membrane. The system has high compressive strength, allowing the use of small loaders or mini-excavators during installation or maintenance. The attachment system accommodates changing slopes and curved surfaces, and in conjunction with the optional MODI Paving Grill, can be used on roofs with slopes greater than 15%, as well as driveways and walkways. The trays may be shaped with a saw or disc grinder.

The modular PG-45 Porous Paving Grid from Green Innovations is made from 100% recycled HDPE (80% pre-consumer and 20% post-consumer). It can be used to create parking, driving, and nonslip walking surfaces on lawns or sand bases, or to create gravel surfaces. The flexible grid parts, which were designed to be reused, can be individually removed, and may be shaped with a saw or grinding disc. The grids will support heavy trucks, according to the manufacturer. The system comes in a dark green color; black is available upon request.

GridTech is the North American distributor for Netpave® by Netlon Turf Systems®. Netpave 50 is a system of interlocking pavers made from 100% post-industrial recycled polyethylene from the foil production industry. The pavers, filled with gravel or planted with grass, are suitable for parking lots, driveways, access roads, helipads, and sidewalks. No pins are needed because of a unique lug-and-slot connector design. The pavers are able to adapt as individual units and as a matrix to uneven surfaces, gradients, and differential settlement. Measuring 1 m² and 2" deep, the pavers are lightweight and easy to install. Optional white moldings that clip over the top of the paver cells are available to delineate parking spaces or routes. A similar product, Netpave 25, is a stabilizing system for use on top of existing turf surfaces to protect grassed paths, parking, and other applications from damage and erosion. It will support light traffic on firm ground.

Some products also have geotextile backings. Grasspave2 and Gravelpave2 are grids that are designed for drive-on, porous paving surfaces of grass or gravel. They are shipped in 9 standard roll sizes. Gravelpave2 comes in 4 standard colors and has a geotextile backing to prevent gravel migration. The tan, gray, and terra cotta Gravelpave2 cannot be guaranteed to be 100% recycled plastic. Draincore2 is a drainage mat designed to be used in conjunction with geotextiles and appropriate soils for effective subsurface drainage of high use outdoor areas or green roofs. Draincore2 has high compressive strength suitable for heavy traffic.
