USGBC "Sacred Tree" awards

The U.S. Green Building Council awarded its first Sacred Tree Leadership Awards

in Austin for outstanding contributions to green building. Ray Anderson, founder and chairman of Interface, Inc. won the Green Business Award. The USGBC Leadership Award went to Rob Watson, director of the Natural Resource Defense Council’s International Energy Project. Pliny Fisk III, co-director of the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems, and New York governor George Pataki shared recognition for Green Public Service. (Pataki’s award was accepted by Timothy Carey, president of Battery Park City Authority.)
