Plum Creek SFI Certification, Audit Process Challenged in Oregon

In December 2014, the Center for Sustainable Economy (CSE), an Oregon nonprofit, issued a formal complaint calling for the suspension of Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certificates held by Plum Creek in the state. In January 2015, the company said it regretted the violations but has taken corrective steps. CSE is also calling for the auditor, Bureau Veritas, to be barred from issuing SFI certificates. Suspension of the SFI certificate and action against the auditor both appear unlikely.
